Infuriating

This video infuriates me. But that anger that I feel compels me to do something more. To work harder to spread our message. I am so sad for this student that had to deal with an asshole like this teacher. And how this teacher is even employed is beyond me. Take a look at this video and let me know what you think.

Infuriated like me? Compelled to do something? Spread the word. Share the video, share the blog, share the story. Shop! (okay, shameless plug)  What can you do to help?

Meet Me Halfway

I first read about Jimmy Wayne in one of my People magazines. I do like Country music, but I don’t listen to it consistently.  I’m sure I’ve heard of his songs but his name doesn’t ring a bell.  Well let me tell you, it does now!  His new project, Meet Me Halfway, is nothing short of inspirational.  He is walking across country 1,683 miles to be exact, to raise money for foster programs.  He had a troubled childhood, to say the least.  He wants to improve upon the foster care system now in place, specifically looking to help those children who “age out” at the age of 18, so that they don’t end up on the streets like Jimmy did.  Please go check out his story here.  Follow him and his journey here on twitter.  And check out his fan page on Facebook here.  And if you can’t do the above, at least watch this video.  I love it!

I have to tell you, I started following him on Twitter, saw he was in Arizona, and immediately tweeted him back asking if he needed a place to stay (he doesn’t stay in hotels…if he’s not invited into a home he stays outside), or company to walk with him.  His reply to my tweet:

“Dear Ma’am that’s been looking for me in the desert all day today, I’ve been in Canada doing a show! I’m enroute to AZ now; will walk 2maro”

HILARIOUS!  I hope he does tweet more tomorrow…I will definitely come walk with him.  Even in the heat.  I absolutely love this story!

What stories are inspiring you right now?

Loving This Video and Our Upcoming Trip!

One more video about Autism…the whole topic is fascinating, and I don’t mean that in a “good” way. There’s so much to learn about it and from it. Take, for example, this lady:

In other news, Brett and I leave for Florida today….without kids!  We are attending the wedding of some good friends of ours.  I couldn’t be more excited for them; they are a beautiful couple inside and out.  I couldn’t be more excited for us!  I think the last time we had a beach vacation without the kids was our honeymoon!  We’re staying in Boca Grande.  Here’s a picture to make you jealous!

Look, they already reserved our chairs!

Tiny Dancer

This is Emma in her ballet class.  She adores ballet.  Emma is the one in a black leotard, blond ponytail, and purple glasses.  She loves to twirl and she loves to “freeze” in the same position every time.

Isn’t she cute?
