Meet Me Halfway

I first read about Jimmy Wayne in one of my People magazines. I do like Country music, but I don’t listen to it consistently.  I’m sure I’ve heard of his songs but his name doesn’t ring a bell.  Well let me tell you, it does now!  His new project, Meet Me Halfway, is nothing short of inspirational.  He is walking across country 1,683 miles to be exact, to raise money for foster programs.  He had a troubled childhood, to say the least.  He wants to improve upon the foster care system now in place, specifically looking to help those children who “age out” at the age of 18, so that they don’t end up on the streets like Jimmy did.  Please go check out his story here.  Follow him and his journey here on twitter.  And check out his fan page on Facebook here.  And if you can’t do the above, at least watch this video.  I love it!

I have to tell you, I started following him on Twitter, saw he was in Arizona, and immediately tweeted him back asking if he needed a place to stay (he doesn’t stay in hotels…if he’s not invited into a home he stays outside), or company to walk with him.  His reply to my tweet:

“Dear Ma’am that’s been looking for me in the desert all day today, I’ve been in Canada doing a show! I’m enroute to AZ now; will walk 2maro”

HILARIOUS!  I hope he does tweet more tomorrow…I will definitely come walk with him.  Even in the heat.  I absolutely love this story!

What stories are inspiring you right now?

Talk About Inspiration!!

I’d like you to meet George.

He is running an AMAZING race for Luci and the MAGIC Foundation.  This is Luci.

Their story is completely amazing.  And George’s journey is nothing short of inspirational.  On April 25th, he will set out on a 150+ race throughout the Kimberly region of the Australian Outback.  George’s goal is to race an ultra-marathon on every single continent in order to spread the word and information about growth disorders.  What’s even more amazing is that Luci isn’t even George’s daughter!!  Luci is the daughter of a co-worker of George.  I really encourage you to read George’s story here and click on ‘George’.

You can read all about Luci and her situation here and click on ‘Luci’.  Her story sounds a lot like Emma’s except Luci was diagnosed shortly after birth.

Keep up with George’s blog during the race here and click on ‘Australia blog’.

I LOVE these stories!!  We don’t get to hear enough of them…don’t you agree?
