For the first time in a long time, Emma was excited for school today.  Of course in this house it’s called “summer camp”.  She’s so excited to be on a new campus, in a new classroom, with new teachers.  Per our ESY agreement (I haven’t even gotten to that part of the story), she is taking remedial math and phonics classes for resource students.  Stuffed in between is an arts and crafts class…right up her alley.  And icing on the cake: one of her good friends is in both of the academic classes with her.  She was a happy girl when I picked her up.  She may not learn much (academically) during this session.  But as long as she can learn to like school again, and to be happy, that’s all I care about!
