Proof

Photobucket
Proof that I was in a kickball league this past spring.  (I am second from left, bottom row) We had a great team…’great’ in that we were all good sports, easy going, and not out for the kill.  There were other teams, however, that were in it to win it, even if that meant cheating or being drama queens.  And there were chain smokers.  Not that that has anything to do with kickball or being a team player, I just don’t like smoking.  We weren’t the best team, athletically speaking, but we had a lot of fun.  And that’s all that matters!

I am home from CA…we had such a great time!  Let me get my bearings and I’ll be back on Monday!

  1. Hi, I just found your blog through a link on another special needs blog. My son has septo-optic dysplasia and ONH as well. So far you’re the third person (blog) I’ve found who has a child with SOD/ONH. I can’t wait to read all about Emma. Anyway I just wanted to say hi.

  2. I’m trying to catch up on discussions in our BlogFrog community (which I thought I’d deleted!!!) and came across your response. Thank you so much for stopping by the Suite! I apologize for taking so long to hop back into the conversation. It’s certainly nothing personal!

Kickball – my favorite recess activity in elementary school and the one for which my dad was most famous during his teaching days :) Dad’s students talk about it even as adults, so it’s so much fun to see that it’s still going on in full force!

I’m eager to learn more about you and Emma!

  3. Azaera…so happy to find another blogger dealing with SOD! I have put you on my Google Reader! I just met up with some of my friends from the Focus Families list this weekend. Do you belong?
Helen, no worries on the late response! I totally understand! Wasn’t kickball the best in elementary school? It was still as fun as an adult. However my skills didn’t improve any! :-) Thanks for the comments!

  4. I’ve been on the Focus Families website, and Magic foundation and Family Connect is another good one. I’ve taken a few courses through Hadley School for the Blind which are fantastic. And I’ve learned Braille. But I live in Canada so I’ve never been to any of the meetings, as I’m assuming they’re in the states. Would it be alright if I put a link to your blog on mine?

  5. I read about your dinner with the Queen and wondered if you lived in G.B. Then I saw your profile! I would love it if you linked my blog onto yours. Thank you!
